Wind and Sail is a small painting of 9″ x 12″ oil on canvas. The female figure approaches a small boat with a white sail, while a white bird sings a tune, which is visible as a fluttering white banner. White is the collection of all color, the end of the spectrum, the Omega.
The woman has fairy or maybe angelic wings, and large cat-like ears. These characteristics let us know she is at a liminal place between dimensions or realms, the ears suggesting maybe a rebirth – cats have 9 lives after all… she stands at the edge of mystery, magic, and the hereafter.
The boat, like Charon’s boat, is there to take her on this journey, but she approaches without fear. Her vibrant life, as seen by the brilliant red of her clothing, has been well-lived.
Wind and Sail is sold.
