Recompose came about after a visit to a local thrift store (Fishy Finds) filled with piles of random of objects, vaguely sorted into categories like ‘doorknobs’ ‘lampshades’ ‘doll parts’ etc. In a wheel barrow in the back I found a collection of sun-bleached cow bones. I picked one up and it smiled at me, so I bought it. Now it is an assemblage. I’d like to think there is reincarnation, if not of body then of spirit. This cow’s happy spirit, and all of the spirits that came before her, are now reincarnated in this artwork.
Cow bone with added bisque, epoxy resin and polymer assemblage, painted with acrylic, in a 9″ x 12″ x 6′ lucite vitrine. Ready to hang. Can also be displayed as tabletop art.
Recompose is available in my studio.
