Future Ancestors

In this painting I imagine our physical presence in time and space as a vertical, sinous, axial spinal structure into which flows the spirits and messages of our ancestors, swirling through a maze of our present existence, through our own complex system of strengths and weaknesses, flowing out again into the lives of our descendants. As the caretakers of this present vessel, we decide what we take from the past and give to the future.
