As board member and Development Chair of the local Chatsworth non-profit environmental group, The Foundation for the Preservation of the Santa Susana Mountains (FPSSM.org) I initiated, organized and directed an art contest and fundraising event to promote the organization and its mission, and to engage the community in a free public arts event celebrating community artists and the natural beauty of our local mountains.
Artists from around the county of Los Angeles were invited to submit artworks for use on the official FPSSM T-Shirts worn by trail-tour volunteers and interpretive docents. The winning artists were selected by me and Dr. Elizabeth Harris (FPSSM founder.)
A ceremony presenting the artists with awards was held at The Canoga Park Youth Arts, the space graciously donated to our event by Stuart Vaughn and the Department of Cultural Affairs. Representatives of Council District 12 (Mitch Englander’s office) and Council District 3 (Bob Blumenfeld’s office) presented the certificates and awards to the winning artists. REI Northridge graciously donated winners’ prizes.

I know how abused your email box is because mine is overwhelmed as well. I only send updates regarding new work or exhibitions which ends up to be about 6 or 7 emails a year. I use MailChimp so unsubscribing is a piece of pie. I never sell or give away your email address, here’s the privacy policy. Easy peasy.
