This painting evolved from a trip to Joshua Tree desert. It depicts a young woman considering a liminal landscape. I imagined her, in this vast desert, at an X,Y axis point on a map, looking out over a world of possible directions to decide which tangent to embark upon. The painting is 18″ x 18″ oil on cradled birch wood, with a 9″ diameter cut-out, under which is the painting of the young woman, 12″ x 12″ oil on wood.
This painting is available in my studio.
