Gaze
I catch my subjects in moments of contemplation, or in a pause between actions. This woman was waiting in a line at an art gallery. I loved her clothes, hair, style, and the “look” – it’s the thousand yard stare we get when we are “on hold” — waiting for the line to move, waiting for the person to pick up, waiting for the thing we are waiting for to get…started. For me, this is my “power down” mode, I enter my head and go somewhere else while my body… waits.
