The word “incomitatus” in Latin means unaccompanied, without a protector, or not entrusted. The image depicts two figures, an apparently bored child/man who is tossing matches at a tree, and a seemingly indifferent, possibly asleep, woman. The woman is wrapped up with a snake. The garden behind them shows a fallen, tree and fleeing rabbits.
